Travis is the Vice President of Operations for sys-tek, a multidisciplinary firm specializing in Commissioning, TAB, and MEP Engineering. Travis has a diverse background in Mechanical & Electrical Systems with an emphasis on Building Automation & SCADA systems. Travis has extensive experience in the design, commissioning, control, & TAB of building systems ranging from central chilled water plants to electrical power distribution. Travis has become recognized as an expert in the fault tolerant design and commissioning of Mission Critical Building Monitoring & Control Systems and is a published author, most notably was chapter 17 titled “Mission Critical Web Based Building Monitoring and Control Systems” from the book “Web Based Energy Information And Control Systems”. Travis developed sys-tek’s Cx/TAB Tool Kit software package. The Cx/TAB Tool Kit is the heart and soul of any Commissioning/TAB Project. The Tool Kit is comprised of several diverse sections designed for different project needs. The Tool Kit is developed using the Tridium NiagaraAX Framework.

Experience

Project experience in project management, control installation and commissioning for mission critical facilities (data centers and telecommunication). Experience includes developing detailed installation point-to-point wiring diagrams with detail control panel layout and design. Installation includes panel construction and installing, calibrating and configuring field devices. Provided system programming and system integration into major equipment using BACNet/IP, Modbus and LonTalk. Travis has a diverse background working with all types of manufacturers and protocols.

Travis equipment start-up experiences includes generator plants as large as 12 megawatt, UPS system that include 1,000 kVA modules in parallel configuration, 6,000 ton chiller plant in a variable primary flow configuration, 2,000 BHP steam plant operating at 125 PSI and countless air systems in every conceivable configuration and size.

Combining Travis's skill set with control installation, engineering design and system trouble shooting and data collection there is nothing that he can get commissioned, started-up and get working at its highest possible efficiency. Travis has the experience to get the job done right, plain and simple.

Travis, follows through and is a great communicator. He works really well with construction staff during the installation and is always providing valuable input that saves time by eliminating re-work. When it comes time to bring systems on line the communication path between all involved parties is wide open and all expectations are clearly set. No surprises, just results.
