John HeldstabWhat is truly unique about John's abilities and talents is his down to Earth approach to problem solving and finding solutions that are practical, and better yet, they work. He understands what is required to operate a building and keep systems performing at maximum efficiency and reliability.

Experience

John comes with over 29 years of experience having worked as a Project Manager and Owner of an electrical contracting company. John's recent experience includes Manager of Central Facilities for the University of Missouri - Kansas City (UMKC). Other experience includes 10 years with the positions as a journeyman electrician, Project Manager, Coordinator of HVAC Distribution and Building Automation, Manager of HVAC Operations, and Manager of Engineering and Construction. This includes emphasis on project inception design process, management, design and submittal review, installation inspection, and commissioning review.

John was previously a part time faculty member of the Metropolitan Community College where he held a 15 year tenure with classes including HVAC, design and estimation, motor controls and contract assignments for Associated Builders and Contractors and Pipefitters Local 553.

As the manager of Engineering and Construction, John coordinated all HVAC, electrical, plumbing, central plant modification and upgrades for the entire campus. As Facility Manager, John managed and coordinated a facility staff of 68 for maintaining all the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing, and building systems. The diverse set of buildings included a hospital, research facilities, and a dental school as well as libraries, classrooms, and student facilities found on a Division 1 school campus.

Projects

John has managed a leadership role from project development through measurement and verification of a twenty million dollar Energy Performance Contract Project for the University of Missouri at Kansas City. John also averaged over one million dollars per year over the last 5 years in Building Automation System legacy conversions and system upgrades.
